Outdoor fibreglass tank

Sand has been added to make ground level ready for the fibreglass tank to be placed with a 16" metal collar with glass inserts around the top ready to be built around.
1. We started off with a bare earth surface for our tank.
2. A hole has been dug and sand has been added to make ground level ready for the fibreglass tank to be placed.
3. Once the tank was in place, we added a 16" collar around the top, ready to be built around.
4. The final tank in place, complete with wooden canopy.

Stone Pond

This pond was in the process of being made bigger, as you can see it has various levels for lillies that i put in after work was complete. The pond is finished with a rubber lining and small metal fence around the top to deter herons.
My first task was to create levels to this pond. This would allow the customer to plant lillies without them being too deep in the water.
Once the structure was in place, the whole thing was concreted over, then a rubber lining was put inside to make it watertight and long-lasting.
I also included a small metal fence around the edge of the pond as a deterrence to herons who can see off a collection of fish in not much time at all!

Pond cleaning and maintenance

I cleaned and removed all plants and relayed some of the loose capping stones around the pond. I also made a wooden frame for the pond as the owner wanted to make sure young children could not fall in and harm themselves.
1. The pond as it originally was. Plants were overgrown in and around it, and the netting designed to keep it safe for children was in a state of disrepair.
2. I drained and cleaned out the pond, giving us a blank slate to start off again with.
3. I created a wooden framework which would then be overlaid with netting to keep children safe around the pond without impacting on the visual appeal of the pond.
4. The finished product. It's almost unrecognisable from the original!

Relining a pond

I drained down and cleaned out the pond ready for a new liner, and whilst filling the pond with water unfolded and sorted out the creases in the liner. Once the pond was filled, I cut holes around the top edge of the liner so I could cement capping stones to the top edge to hold the liner in place.
1. The pond was drained and cleaned, in preparation for its new liner.
2. The liner is then unfolded into the pond, ready to be refilled.
3. The pond is filled with water. The weight of the water aides in removing creases in the liner.
4. Once satisfied with the condition of the liner, I cut out holes from around the rim of the pond which allowed me to apply capping stones, creating a more visually appealing look and holding the liner in place.
5. The end result. The customer was very happy with their reinvigorated pond.

Pond cleaning and maintenance

Here is a picture of a dirty pond before work has started.
This is the pond during draining out of the water.
At the bottom after draining there is silt and debris to be cleaned out and the sides of the pond need cleaning down.
Once the pond is cleaned it can then be refilled with fresh, clean water.
Plants are then added and a net is put over the top to protect the fish.
Another view to show the plants hanging from the wall and the net covering the pond.
A close up of the planted baskets hanging from the wall.
